1. About CitizenLens
CitizenLens is a citizen-built civic accountability platform for India. It is independent — not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any government entity, ministry, municipal body, or public authority. When citizens escalate via Twitter, WhatsApp, email, or by filing on a public portal, those actions happen from the user's own apps and accounts. CitizenLens helps users draft and route the message; the user stays in control of what gets sent.
2. How the in-app data was compiled
Authority contact information shown in CitizenLens (names, emails, phone numbers, social media handles, departments) was curated by community contributors from publicly-available sources — government websites, news archives, official press releases, RTI responses, and direct citizen submissions across 46 Indian cities. Every in-app entry is labelled "Community" so users know where it came from, and any user can flag, vote on, or contribute a correction. Local accuracy comes from local citizens.

The portals below are public destinations where citizens can file complaints, submit RTIs, look up vehicle records, or verify information with the relevant authority directly. They are not data sources for the in-app contact information — they are listed here as a convenience for users who want to interact with these authorities themselves. CitizenLens links to them but is not affiliated with any of them.
